Purpose of This Note
This application note discusses theory and practice of transmission lines. It outlines the
necessity of transmission lines for modeling porous electrodes in Electrochemical Impedance
Spectroscopy (EIS) and describes different kinds of models.
Several practical examples of different electrochemical energy storage and generation
devices give suggestions how to evaluate such EIS spectra with Gamry’s Echem Analyst.
